Inspired by Berwick’s Burrell Collection, Holy Trinity First School secured seed funding from Active Northumberland, to facilitate the appointment of a ceramicist who could work with the staff, providing professional development and creative collaboration. Seget was commissioned to work closely with both pupils and staff to create a permanent artwork for the school’s entrance hall.
The final piece, a tribute to the school’s values, features nearly 2,000 hand-crafted porcelain discs, some delicately debossed with text to form the school prayer. A heart motif and the pure white of the porcelain symbolise the love and unity that bind the school community.
