The Tyneside Cinema, the last newsreel cinema in Britain, was closed for redevelopment in November 2006.
The red velvet seats, which were removed from the venue’s iconic Classic Cinema, were offered for sale to cinema members. This photographic project documents the seats in their new homes throughout the North East of England.
