This work draws on the artist's own sensory relationship with public spaces and that of the many people with heightened sensitivity.
Reclamation of Focus II is an installation that, through the neutralising of the features that disturb and demand attention, such as noise, physical discomfort, glare and rapid movement, relieves visitor pain points. The nervous system is further calmed through the application of protective components, such as boundaries, as well as the presentation of elements that support the chemistry of life to take place, as in water and fresh air.
Before entering the space visitors are invited to deposit their belongings, turn off their phones and to remain silent.
